Had an inspiring meeting with my publisher. Bought a cell phone. Took my children to Vancouver Island and dropped them off with my sister and brother-in-law, possibly delaying that couple’s childbearing plans by several years. Finished Divisadero. Decided that as there’s no chance of ever writing like Michael Ondaatje, I should consider a career as a barista. Danced at a lovely wedding on Mount Washington. Forgot about Divisadero and did some writing. Retrieved my children. Sat in the sun on the deck of the ferry with a big group of great people and gloated about life in general.
