Mom: You never told me about that new book you talked about on your blog.

Me: 50 Burning Questions? Yes I did.

Mom: No. I’ve never heard of it before.

Me: I’m sure I told you.

Mom: Nothing.

Me: It’s the one that’s like Burn, except for younger kids. And there’s going to be illustrations.

Mom: Oh right, that one.

And then, thirty seconds later:

Mom: You didn’t give me a copy of your last book.

Me: The new edition of Canadian Girls? I didn’t?

Mom: Oh, wait. Maybe you did. Can you bring me another one?

At least she’s a fan, right?
