You may have noticed a slight slow-down in blog posts this past week. That’s because my family was visiting and while I can do many things with eight people in the house — cook, gossip, laugh, eat, wash dishes, and cook more — I can’t think.
I’ve heard that some people can think and talk at the same time. I can see how that would be useful.
I’m probably a boring conversationalist because my best lines arrive only once I’ve finished talking and sat down alone in my room. During actual interaction, I get confused by other people’s opinions, I’m distracted by the need to pour more wine, and I can’t remember the sources for any of the random facts in my head.
This past weekend, I found myself talking with my law enforcer brother-in-law, and realized I was basing all my views on having watched the TV show Flashpoint.
Really, it’s better for everyone that I’m back in front of my computer.
Ha! Well at least it’s a Canadian police show – with a home-town connection even.
