Junk food

This is the escapism I’ve been reading during my blog break.

This is entirely not my type of read, but my dad was visiting and as he left he put his book on the coffee table and said, “You won’t like this, but I’ll leave it here for someone to read.”

That’s like putting a bowl of chips in front of me and telling me not to taste them. I lasted about 12 hours before I flipped it open. And I have to admit, it was highly entertaining. It followed all the rules I’ve learned reading Deryn’s mystery blog: a body in the first few pages, decent characterization, lots of twists and turns, and a satisfying ending. Just the right medicine for a stressful time.
