Anyone else remember this guy?

I did, right away! I probably haven’t seen him for 30 (okay 35) years, but I remember that he wanted to be in the zoo. I remember Robert the Rose Horse, too, and his pesky flower allergy.

Both these characters appear in The Big Red Book of Beginner Books, one of my son’s current favourites. So kudos to Robert Lopshire, Joan Heilbroner, and P.D. Eastman, for writing stories that work just as well now as they did a generation ago!
