A big thank you to librarian Julie Hunt, who invited me to West Bay Elementary School’s literacy night last night. I talked to a group of grade four and five students who’d been reading from Canadian Girls Who Rocked the World and Canadian Boys Who Rocked the World.

Afterwards, we all headed to the school gymnasium. Waiting there were cups of hot chocolate and tables and tables of the library’s newest books. There were so many great titles, I had to resist grabbing them all for myself!

The best part of the evening? When I sat on the mats with the kids, some of them didn’t have time to chat. They were too busy reading!
