This week’s CWILL BC question is all about book trailers. I’ve actually been thinking about making a trailer for the new edition of Canadian Girls, knowing that it will take me about 1000 hours, which is 1000 hours I won’t be using for writing, which at this moment is sounding like a good thing.
One of my favorite book trailers is Lee Edward Fodi’s for Kendra Kandlestar and the Door to Unger. But, in my opinion, Lee’s illustration background gives him an unfair advantage and he should thus be disqualified from the list of book-trailer-makers-with-whom-I-may-be-forced-to-compete.
Another favorite of mine is this far-from-professional video by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, author of Cookies: Bite-Size Life Lessons.
I also saw this not-quite-a-trailer on the Orca website this week. It’s about a flash mob, which looks like way more fun that either making trailers or writing.
I’m going to go hang out in a train station and read aloud for a while.
