I read a blog called Price Tags, in which planner and former politician Gordon Price talks about the development of the city and international variations on bike lanes, and other things about which I know nothing. His posts allow me the illusion of having an eye on urban planning issues. So, I liked the blog… until this morning, when I saw THIS:
Honestly, can’t a girl just watch floods on the news and think about how lucky she is to live in Vancouver and not Brisbane? Granted, this particular flood was in 1948, before Vancouver city planning began. But I’m thinking I have to add it to my list of unsolvable ulcerating issues… earthquakes, sea level rise, and now flooding. Pass that brown paper bag, please, for when the hyperventilating starts.
(And to think I wasted my entire childhood worrying about the sun exploding!)
