I’ve been telling Min for more than a week now about my new John Vaillant book. I’ve been talking about the size of Russian tigers, and the territories they cover, and their hunting practices, and their apparent capacity for abstract thought. Talking, talking, and talking about tigers, tigers, and tigers.
Then, yesterday, Min and I have this conversation:
Min: So, is any of this stuff based on fact?
Tanya: The book is non-fiction.
Min: Oh. What’s it called?
Tanya: The Tiger.
Yeesh. If any of you are more interested than my husband, it’s an excellent book. It’s about tigers.
